I had a really great tutorial with Teresa today, and I expressed how I was feeling about everything. I was happy with the tea idea, and drawing the animals, but the whole story of Journey to the West was something that was getting to me a little bit, and i was struggling to pick out other characters or scenes. Everything is so far fetched that I couldn't pin point certain parts. I would find myself reading more and more of the story in order to get somewhere, but would get no where and waste time in the process.
I was able to talk of these concerns through with Teresa and we came up with an alternative option that is definitely achievable.
Because I've already got some of the animal designs, and thats whats working well for me, we discussed the possibility of changing the theme to the Chinese Zodiac.
With the pig and the monkey that I had already worked on, I was half way there. Because its the year of the fire monkey, this could make the tea set easier to promote and more collectable when applied. I know its late in the game to change my idea, but I just can't keep working on something I don't enjoy, and this seems more exciting to me. I have some work, i just need to make more.
Moving forward-
- Research the Chinese Zodiac
- Decide on 2 more animals form this.
- Edit the monkey to look more like the pig
- Start applying.
- Research into product and packaging, especially in tea
- REWRITE PROPOSAL.
