Before starting my visual journal, I decided to do a little research into the journals of others. Pat Perry is one of my favourite illustrators, and i feel his sketchbooks are as honest as could be. Its like he puts all of his thoughts and feeling onto the pages. Mixed media and varied layouts work so well in creating a diverse and exciting sketchbook.
My aims for my visual journal-
- Media. Go wild, try new things, push out of my media comfort zone.
- Try out various layouts, go big go small, fill pages, keep others to a minimum.
- Have refined pages and others that are roughs.
- Try and keep it organised so that it runs smoothly with my thought process.
- Be creative.
