Animated stings research.

Made by Model Robot

I chose this one because its really short and effective. Its the exact same amount of time our sting will be so its given me an idea of how much you can do it such a short space of time.

- I like the combination of digital and and real photographic background, and also how the digital work is made to look handmade. As though theres a certain level of craft in each dinosaur.
- There's quite a lot of movement in this even though its so short which is impressive.
-The 3D angles are great.

Im not sure it was actually made on after effects though, I don't think ill know until I've had more experience working with the programme.

Next one i found was made by Nate Theis

- Its funny. Making people laugh is always great.
- Made with a limited colour palette which works well.
- Love the hand drawn aesthetic.
- Simple idea, executed well

I found this one in the 'staff picks' section on vimeo, which means its a really successful piece of animation. However I really don't think this was made on After effects, so i need to research some that actually were...

This one was definitely made in after effects. Which is good to know what I can do with the software were using. Made by Marcel Sygula.

- Great use of colour.
- Simple but very effective
- Digitally made, which I really like, however I think id rather have some handmade elements, if not all handmade. (Still not sure the ins and outs of the programme yet though)
- Purely shape driven, something i'd like to work more with.

Ive also been looking at loads of animations on loop de loop which is a great site, and I'm pretty sure is one of the sites we can enter our work into for responsive which is something to think about.

What I've concluded from this research-

-Simple ideas tend to work best when they are well executed
-Colour palette is very important. (not something I'm good at but aim to improve this year)
- After effects is a great way to bring your images to life.

This should be fun.
