This crit was really useful, especially because its the first one we've had since being back. Was good to remember how to be critical about my own work and others. I felt really good after it, and my aims are now to keep drawing in the visual journal. Do some more quick, simplistic pages, as everyone seemed to like them, and also look into Leonora's surreal paintings and artwork.
After the crit I then had the chance to talk to Ben who really inspired me on the whole surreal front. I know Ive not looked at enough of her work, I keep forgetting that the brief is about the author, not about the book. I'd like to research more around the theme of surrealism too, I didn't realise we were able to take it where we wanted, I thought we had to stay quite close to home. But now Im a lot more excited to expand on what I know with my drawings.
Eventually I'd like to be able to combine parts of the books and parts of her life into visual imagery.
