After my struggles the last few weeks, I grabbed a sketchbook and filled it. I just wanted to play. I wanted to go crazy. It was so much fun being expressive and experimental again, and I now find it so sad that I had stopped doing that.
Most of the pages are awful, but I got these two gouache painting from it which Im really happy with. I want to make this into a screen print. Although this isn't the style I want to use for the book, I was thinking I could do 3 screen prints in this particular style to go along side my work. I think this will be good to show people that I can work in a more playful style, as well as serious. I need to re work this design into a 3 colour screen print if I can.
Evaluation-
- Good things happen when process and play are involved.
- Experiment daily, never stop being creative, even when you hit a brick wall.
- This isn't the style I want my book to be in, but I want to do something with it towards fmp.
The wiggly lines add movement to the image, which helps and adds the documentary aspect.
Moving forward-
- Rework into a screen print.
- Screen print it.
Try some other designs in this style.
