We were shown Shaun Tans work briefly in the briefing the other day, and it stuck with me what Matt said, that he 'creates worlds'. His work is absolutely incredible. Mystical and magical.
Creating characters was difficult for me, so I decided to take a different approach and come up with my own little story to go with a character. Create a world that my character lived in, and go from there. I enjoyed this approach so much more, as I was able to pour myself into what I was drawing and writing.
Here is a page from this, and I feel confident that I will be able to take this character and create him into a gif...
