Drawings for Asia Animation
Here's my contribution to the Asia animation. This was the one I felt I had the least amount of input in, and one of these drawings didn't end up in the animation in the end, but I understand, its so hard trying to fit everything into 20 seconds. At first I was really annoyed but then I put my professional hat on and realised that this happens. Collaborating is good because it gives you a taste of what the real world could be like, for example, I could do 30 drawings for a client and they may only use or like 5 of them, its the way of the trade. The boys worked so hard animating and colouring everything, and we probably didn't have time to fit that drawing in, nor was it necessary.
Things Ive learnt thus far-
- Its important to voice things. I wanted to be a little more involved in everything, but I was nervous to ask because I wasn't sure the group thought I could assist. Towards the end I did ask and voice it though and they were happy to let me get involved more. Need to be more confident.
- Being an illustrator isn't going to be the easiest job, and there will be times when clients won't use my work, I will just have to suck it up and learn from all of this.
- I need more digital skills. In someways agreeing to be part of a group making an animation was a bad idea for me when I know that I love traditional methods of image making and I like to stay as far away from a computer as possible. However im glad I did because its made me realise I need to push this side more, give myself the challenge and rise to it.
